plainews aggregates headlines and summaries from publicly available news sources. We do not produce original journalism. We are not responsible for the content of third-party articles — always verify news at the original source. plainews is intended for a general audience and is available worldwide; you are responsible for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction.
You may use plainews for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape, crawl, or systematically download our content for redistribution. You may not attempt to disrupt or circumvent our systems.
Creating an account is free. You provide your email address; we use it only to send your login link and, if you opt in, the Daily Brief newsletter. We do not sell your email address.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.
plainews is completely free. There are no paid tiers, no subscriptions, and no premium features. All features are available to all users. The site is funded by a small number of advertisements and voluntary donations via Ko-fi.
Bias ratings are sourced from AllSides and Ad Fontes Media. They represent our best understanding of source tendencies, not editorial endorsement. We display content from across the political spectrum; inclusion does not equal endorsement.

Headlines, article summaries, images, and links belong to their original publishers and are used to aggregate and point readers to the source. plainews claims no ownership of that third-party content. The plainews name, layout, and original elements of the site are owned by Basement Yeti LLC.

Because plainews is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
